 Dale Rood

 Producer, Model-Railroad.TV

Dale Rood came to the Model-Railroad.TV team with a deep passion and knowledge of all things train—no matter the scale. From his favorite gauge, HO, to the real thing that cuts through the countryside of his hometown in southeastern Minnesota, Dale’s love for trains runs deep and is punctuated by his signature engineer’s cap that he is never without.

A retired pastor, Dale now finds more time to spend with his beloved family. (Even though he and his wife must travel cross-country to visit them—all the more time to go train chasing!) A real go-getter, Dale also is able to dedicate more time to his trains and models—once he starts a project, he won’t stop until it’s finished! Dale’s major interest in models lies in prototypical operation, or achieving the most realistic movement and speed possible. As the old adage goes, “Don’t ask how fast it can go, but how much it can pull!”

The host of several favorite video segments on Model-Railroad.TV, including the Jackson Street Roundhouse series, the World’s Greatest Hobby Show trip, and the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train episode, to name a few, Dale delights in sharing his love of trains with the viewers of Model-Railroad.TV. Look for many more episodes hosted by Dale, the self-proclaimed “train nut,” right here on Model-Railroad.TV!

 Nick Duxfield

 Producer, ModelRailway.TV

The editor of our sister-site in the United Kingdom, ModelRailway.TV, Nick Duxfield can also be seen on episodes featured here at Model-Railroad.TV. Nick is the retired manager of Bahnhof Europa, the non-UK section of the Gaugemaster Model Railway Showroom at Ford in West Sussex, England. He had been helping railway modelers at Gaugemaster for over ten years.

His responsibility covered all gauges from the new, minute T-gauge to the considerably larger G-gauge for outdoor enthusiasts, and he is currently one of the leading UK experts on European model railways. His beautifully-crafted scenic models have adorned showroom walls and one of his masterpieces has been filmed by ModelRailway.TV prior to becoming the centerpiece for the Engine Shed, the UK’s half of the Gaugemaster showroom.

Formerly involved in the furniture industry, he is also, of course, a passionate railway modeler. Now retired, Nick has more time to spend on his modeling, which he shares with you right here at Model-Railroad.TV.

 Ron Galloway

An avid railroader since the tender age of three, Ron knows all the "ins and outs" of the hobby--the many different scales, styles of locomotives, and advancements in the technology that keeps this hobby moving forward.

Ron has designed and built his own portable layout that he brings to many shows throughout the year. He even features this massive layout right here on the site. You'll find yourself drawn to Ron's loveable personality, fueled by his dediated passion to the model trains he loves so dearly.

 Ken Borowski

 Guest Expert, Model-Railroad.TV

Ken Borowski has been a modeler for nearly 20 years. A native of Chicago, he grew up surrounded by planes and trains and, like most little boys, developed his passion for models early in life. Now living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ken works for Delta Airlines. Modeling is a favorite hobby of Ken’s to get him through those long Minnesota winters, but Ken also enjoys the great outdoors and golfing when the weather cooperates.

Ken and his superb Clinchfield were featured in N-Scale Magazine in 2008. You can get to know Ken and his Clinchfield right here on Model-Railroad.TV. Visit Ken's web site at www.clinchfield-nscale.com.

 Nigel Overington

 Editor, ModelRailway.TV

Nigel began his lifetime’s interest in model railways with a Hornby Dublo 3 Rail on plywood hinged to the bedroom wall. That was stored when he joined the Royal Navy and only reappeared for trade-in when he returned to the hobby many years later. He only had time for limited modeling during his time at sea, so his first real layout had to wait until he left the Royal Navy on medical grounds. That was built in the loft of his current home but suffered from the usual temperature extremes and is now hidden behind storage. He has dabbled with odd boards since, including one in N-gauge, but there’s been nothing permanent.

Nigel readily admits that designing, but never building, dozens of layouts has, in part, been due to a skill gap. But he sees that as a major advantage working on ModelRailway.TV. He said: “When Ashdown asked me to help set up the films, it was on the basis that I was well qualified to talk on behalf of modelers rather than at them."

“While stuck at home, my railway interests have developed in many directions. I have predominantly been a south-of-the-country fan in the steam era, just remembering the final years of steam in the Redhill area."

Nigel also enjoys the modern image, however, as displayed at Eastleigh recently. He said, “While my modeling has been almost exclusively in OO-gauge, the last few months have given me a growing regard for modelers of all gauges, regions, and countries. If I were just starting, I would face a difficult decision as to gauge.”

Apart from visiting shows, clubs, and manufacturers for MRTV, Nigel keeps up to date through his long-standing membership with Southern Locomotives Limited, as well as both the Bluebell and Swanage Railways and the South Western Circle. Nigel added, “The members of Fareham & District Model Railway Club have the misfortune to be the recipients of the majority of my constant modeling questions.”
